Thomas Hürlimann

Thomas has over 30 years of global leadership experience in banking, reinsurance and insurance. He began his career in banking, working in treasury and corporate finance. He then moved into the insurance sector, spending seven years with Swiss Re where he led the Insurance Practice of Swiss Re New Markets. He was also Managing Director of Fox-Pitt Kelton. He joined Zurich Insurance Group in 2003 as Global Head of Group Reinsurance. In 2005, he became Chief Operating Officer for Zurich Global Corporate, and was appointed as CEO Global Corporate in Europe in 2006. After 5 years he became the CEO for Global Corporate, a worldwide business with USD 9 bn sales and 3,500 employees in over 40 countries, serving all corporate clients of Zurich Insurance Group. Throughout his career, Thomas has gained international experience in Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, North and South America, Asia and West Africa.

Thomas holds a degree in business administration and economics from the University of Zurich and an MBA from IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland.

Thomas is a member of the board of Hiscox, a LSE listed specialist insurance group, and of the International Advisory Board of Verisk Analytics and Cytora. He is also a senior advisor to Drake Star Partners and to various fintech companies in Switzerland, Israel, the UK and the US.
